Without a doubt, the A6M2b Mitsubishi Zero fighter was the most famous Japanese single seat fighter of WWII or any other era. The 925 hp A6M2B first flew on January 18, 1940. Later improvements raised the hosepower to 1,130 - good for 326 mph. A6’s had two 20 mm cannons in the wings as well as three 13.2 mm machine guns and two 132lb rockets.
