Space: 1999 (ITC Entertainment, 1975-77) was a British science-fiction television show about the journey of the occupants of a Moon base after the Moon is knocked out of orbit by a nuclear explosion. The series was the last produced by the partnership of Sylvia and Gerry Anderson, famous for the TV series Thunderbirds, Fireball XL5, and UFO. The Andersons' marriage foundered during production of Space: 1999, and the end of production of the first series marked an end to their working association. |
