About this Model: 2008 marked the 70th anniversary of 19(F) Sqn, which was the first RAF Squadron to be equipped with the Spitfire at Duxford in Cambridgeshire. To mark this anniversary and to help publicise their fundraising endeavours, 19 Squadron received both sponsorship and special permission to repaint one of their Hawk fast jet trainers in a camouflage scheme as worn by the Spitfires during the Battle of Britain. Hawk T.1A, XX184, was repainted in the camouflage colours of a WWII Spitfire during April 2008, attending several aviation events in this special scheme |
