About this Model:

Though only moderately popular with the Soviets, the Soviet Air Force used the 2,097 P-40s they had been given quite extensively against the Germans on the Eastern front; most Soviet P-40 squadrons had good combat records. The Warhawk provided close air support as well as air-to-air capability for the Soviet Air Force, with many Soviet pilots becoming aces on the P-40 (although not as many as on the P-39 Airacobra, which was the most numerous American fighter used by the Soviet Air Force).
